If you are in Iceland and preparing your Christmas celebrations, chances are that you are currently on the hunt for the perfect gift for a special someone (actually – it’s overwhelmingly likely. Sometimes it seems as though we all save our most important gifts ’til the very last minute!).
Earlier this week, the Geysir staff was so kind as to invite me to take a look at one of their newest stores, called Geysir Heima (which carries all kinds of beautifully designed products for the home) and pick out a few of their most popular items to share with you guys! All of these would make extraordinary Christmas gifts for your loved ones – and best of all, they range in a variety of prices, with something for almost every budget. Let’s dig in, shall we?
The Geysir towels were a new product for this holiday season and they come in 4 colors and 2 sizes. They are incredibly soft and with their subtle design, they add an elegance to any bathroom. You’ll get a small towel for 2900 kr ISK, a big one for 5900 kr ISK – but for the holidays you can get a big and a small one together for 7000 kr ISK (this holiday season only). I chose a beautiful dark blue color but you can go hot with fiery red or stand out from a crowd with a yellowy green. Your pick!

The Geysir woolen blankets are a favorite Christmas present for many – and for a good reason. Made from Icelandic wool, they are not only beautiful and classy but also SO warm. Perfect for wrapping yourself (or a loved one) up on cold winter nights, or cozying up on the sofa, hot chocolate in one hand and a good book in the other. The blankets come in a variety of different colors and patterns. They’re also on a special offer right now: You’ll get the smaller fringe blankets for 12.800 kr ISK or a bigger blanket (with a circle pattern) for 14.800 kr ISK. These are available at all Geysir stores in Reykjavik, Haukadalur and Akureyri.
Finally, the Geysir candle is the perfect gift for a friend or for your own home. It comes in 5 different scents and each one will fill the room with an old-timey feeling and good memories, at 5800 kr ISK a piece. My personal favorite is the “library scent” (called Bókstofuilman) but I highly suggest that you visit a Geysir store and take a sniff for yourself – you will not be disappointed.
